Friday 13 September at the end of Cambridge Tech Week is dedicated to getting young people excited about a career in tech.
Despite Cambridge being Europe’s largest tech cluster, many young people at school locally feel disconnected from the opportunities on their doorstep.
Tech Futures Day is designed to bring young people into our science parks, to expose them to world-leading businesses, connect them with role models and mentors and give students an experience they’ll never forget. We are looking for companies willing to open their doors to 14-19 year olds for a site visit or to lead an activity.
We’ll also be hosting talks and discussions with employers, academics and educators about the challenge of attracting diverse talent into tech and exploring how AI is changing education.
This runs from 1.30-3pm at the Bradfield Centre on Cambridge Science Park. This will be followed by a reception with opportunities for sixth-form students and undergraduates to network with young professionals from tech companies.
Whether you’d like to run an activity, attend our symposium for educators and employers or join us for the networking reception at the end of the day, you’d be really welcome at any or all of this.
